COMIC CON

4 min read
So this past weekend I went to the Emerald City Comic Con. It was probably the best weekend of my life, so I just thought I'd share my con story. I met a lot of really cool artists and got to talk to them about their experiences and suggestions in life. It was interesting to hear each persons story. I ran into my wonderful friend Amber while I was there! She had an art booth, so it was cool to get back in touch with her! The highlight of my con was probably meeting Patrick Stewart. Im a HUUUGE star trek fan, so it was really cool to get to talk to him. He signed my poster and talked about his glasses. He was super nice! I even got to make awesome friends while standing in line to meet him, so it was a double win! I got to talk to the editor of adventure time and ask her about her job. She was super nice and helped out a lot! I talked to Garry Brown about becoming a comic book artist and art schools and stuff! Hes from Scottland and his wife had blue hair, it was really cool. Out of everyone I talked to I think he gave the best advice. I was also told by a very nice woman who was a cartoonist that her biggest advice for art students would to remember "if something doesnt turn out good, its not the end of the world". As a student its very important to remember that in order to prevent mental break downs and stomach ulcers. Just sayin'. Trust me, this is coming from the girl who stressed so much about first quarter that my only form of relazation was dangerous amounts of coffee and playing on swingsets.

So, as far as loot goes for comic con, I got a ton of stuff. I bought two fiona and cake comic books, a comic book called Grim Leaper (its awesome, ridiculous and terribly wonderfully gory), a comic book called Chew (strange but wonderful) and another called Haux Hunters (havent started it yet). I also got star trek Securtiy symbol earrings, a steampunk kinda side bag, a ton of free Supernatural stuff and a batman poster signed by Garry Brown.

Overall it was an incredibly educational, fun weekend. Seeing all the art has motivated me to work harder on my own and stop procrastinating. 15/10, best con Ive ever been to.

Oh, Ps. I walked past Misha Collins twice and I was in the same room as Adam West. That counts for something right?
